Principal's Bio
Superintendent/Elementary Principal

I have served as Superintendent at Udall USD 463 since July of 2008.  Elementary Principal duties were added in August of 2010.  Prior to coming to Udall I was a superintendent in Oklahoma for nine years.  I was a principal for four years and taught and coached for 17 years prior to entering administration.  My teaching areas were secondary science and math, K-12 physical education, and driver education.  I coached several sports over the years including basketball, baseball, and football.  Working in small schools throughout my career gave me the opportunity to experience many roles in education.

In 1975 I graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  I attended Claremore Junior College (now Rogers State College) for two years and earned my associates degree.  From there I went to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where I got my bachelor's degree in 1979 and a master's degree in educational administration in 1983.  I also completed over 25 hours of administration courses at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma State University after my master's.

My wife, Phyllis, is a retired teacher having taught secondary math.  We have two daughters.  Jessica Jenkins of Oklahoma City is an athletic trainer/physical therapist and is married to Jimmy Jenkins, a financial advisor.  Our first grandchild, Jestyn Reese Jenkins, was born in November of 2010.  Rebecca Stephens lives in Oklahoma City and teaches high school English at Wellston.  I am blessed with a great family and enjoy spending time with them.

I enjoy reading a variety of books of all genres.  We also like gardening and traveling.  I also like fishing and try to spend a week every summer on Lake of the Woods in Canada.
