Kindergarten is ending with a whirlwind of activity this
year! We enjoyed traveling to the zoo. We learned about the rain
forest, the plains of East Africa, and the desert. The students
were excited to find many of the animals we learned about in the
zoo. We had lots of parent participation on our filed trip which
was wonderful.
We loved milking a cow at Murphy’s Dairy
and seeing the animals on their farm. We appreciate Mrs. Murphy
letting us come each year to visit her farm. While we were learning
about the dairy we made ice cream in a bag with Karla and Janene
from the Cowley County Extension Office. We learned about liquids
and solids while we made butter in baby food jars. The butter
tasted so good!
The Eagle Valley Raptor program was
awesome. We had to be very quiet while we watched the birds of
prey.
Our earth worms are hatching and being
moved into their nursery. It has been exciting to see them grow and
hatch from their eggs. Our butterflies hatched and we let them
go.
The weather was cold and damp for History
Day but the students enjoyed all the different activities both
inside and outside. They really enjoyed the cannon, the tent and
stew activity, the furs, watching the soap making demonstration,
and the corn shucking machine.
We have finished our reading book and we
are all excited about our beginning reading skills. We have
finished our math book. The students really enjoyed working with
shapes and pattern blocks.
We are excited and ready for summer
vacation!!!
