Udall School District Welcomes New Superintendent

The superintendent serving Udall USD 463 in 2008-2009 is Kim Stephens. Mr. Stephens comes to Udall after spending thirty years in public school education in Oklahoma. He has nine years experience as a superintendent, the most recent five years at Vici Public Schools in northwest Oklahoma.
Kim Stephens completed high school in 1975 at Weatherford High School in Oklahoma. He attended Claremore Junior College on a baseball scholarship for two years before completing his Bachelor of Science degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1979. Mr. Stephens obtained his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from SWOSU in 1982. In addition to his degree programs he has completed advanced course work at both Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma State University in school business.
Mr. Stephens served as a teacher and coach for seventeen years in four different Oklahoma school districts before entering administration. Teaching endorsements include science, mathematics, and physical education. His coaching duties included boys and girls’ basketball, baseball, football, and various other sports at several levels. He served as the principal at Medford High School before taking his first superintendent’s job at Freedom Public Schools in 1999.
Kim Stephens’ family includes his wife, Phyllis, and two daughters, Jessica and Rebecca. Phyllis is a “semi-retired” teacher who taught mathematics and social studies along with many other duties while working for several Oklahoma districts. Jessica has a degree in athletic training and has worked for several years for Integres Health in Clinton, Oklahoma. Becca obtained her degree in teacher education and currently teaches high school English at Copan School in northeastern Oklahoma.
