The Fourth & Fifth Grade Science class has started a new Jason mission. This mission is called, "Resilient Planet", the students will be studying the different biomes of the world. We will start with the Arctic Region and progress from there.
The students spend part of last week taking part in their first lab, they worked with "Invasive Species" and build a key to describe the differences. They constructed a Dichotomous Key and then asked yes no questions to finish the lab.
The students learned about the alien mussels invading Lake Michigan and some of the lakes in Kansas, Zebra and Quagga mussels and how they effect the habitats in the lakes. The Fifth Grade Science class will be taking a field trip to Winfield City Lake to look at the invasive species at the lake as well as take part in the,"Conservation Field Day."
