The 2008 football season got off to a successful start for the Eagles with a 36-8 victory over the Caldwell Bluejays last Friday night. The Eagles quickly took control of the game as Skylor Kistler snuck it in from one yard out following a Bluejay turnover. The Eagles added another touchdown, this time a 17-yard run by Michael Carselowey, and with both extra point attempts being unsuccessful, the Eagles led 12-0 after the first quarter. The score remained 12-0 throughout the second quarter, but the Eagles opened up the lead in the third quarter, as Carselowey broke off a 47-yard touchdown run, and Skylor Kistler connected with Colton Schoonover on a 60-yard touchdown pass. Once again, the Eagles were unsuccessful on both extra point attempts, so the Eagles took a convincing 24-0 lead into the fourth quarter. The Eagles would add to the lead during the fourth quarter, as Taylor Camp would add two touchdown runs during the quarter, giving the Eagles a 36-0 lead with about five minutes remaining in the game. Caldwell would score their only touchdown on a 4-yard run with about four minutes left in the game, and after a successful extra point conversion, provided the final score of 36-8. The game was a great start to the season with several solid individual performances on both sides of the ball, as well as solid special teams play. The Eagles will look to improve to 2-0 on the season as they travel to Cedar Vale next Friday night to play the Broncos.
