Eagles Keep On Winning!

By Wyatt Williams

October 14, 2008

The Udall Eagles High School football team improved to 5-1 on the season, with a 52-6 victory over the Flint Hills Mustangs on Homecoming Night in Udall. The Eagles fell behind 6-0 early, but scored the next 52-points in the game, as the game ended at the 11:21 mark in the 4th quarter due to the 45-point rule. The Eagles had yet another dominate night offensively, as four Eagles players scored during the game. Quarterback, Skylor Kistler, led the Eagles in both rushing and passing for the game, as he rushed for 162-yards and two touchdowns, while completing four out of seven passes for 57-yards and three touchdowns. Kistler also returned a punt for a 35-yard touchdown and intercepted two passes. Michael Carselowey chipped in another 111-yards and one touchdown rushing on the night, and led the Eagle defense with 14 total tackles. Taylor Camp hauled in two of Kistler’s passes for 41-yards and two touchdowns, as well as rushing for another 46-yards and a touchdown. Colton Schoonover also got into the action, as he scored the first Eagle touchdown on the night, by catching a 14-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
Once again, the Eagle defense dominated the game, as they held the Mustangs scoreless after their early score. The defensive line of: Eli Williams, John Baldwin, Ryan Floyd, and Colton Sawyer controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the night, and the linebacking crew of Carselowey, Camp, Kistler, and Dylan Smith made play after play. The Eagles had another excellent game on special teams, as they did not give up any big returns throughout the night, and also got on the scoreboard with the 35-yard punt return for a touchdown. Overall, it was another great win for the team, as they continue to improve each and every week. The Eagles will now turn their attention to the Chetopa Hornets, as they will take the long trip to Chetopa in search of their sixth victory on the season. We hope to see everybody at the game, and help root us on to another victory in our quest for the playoffs!
