Fall Kindergarten Field Trips

October is National Fire Safety
Month and our class has been learning fire safety rules. We visited
the Udall Fire Station. Our volunteer firemen and women took us
through a smoke house and showed us what firemen wear to a fire. We
liked spraying the fire hose with Fire Chief Randy Hoffman. The day
we traveled to the Udall Fire Station the weather was cold and
rainy, as you can tell from our pictures.
Several days later we traveled to the Derby
Fire Station. The Derby Firemen took us through their smoke house
and let us look at their fire trucks. Then we got to see where the
firemen eat and sleep when they are on duty.
We also traveled to Applejack Pumpkin Patch
to observe the life cycle of pumpkins and of course to pick that
perfect pumpkin. Applejack Pumpkin Patch was a wonderful surprise.
We engaged in all kinds of activities including: petting animals at
the petting zoo, going down a hill slide, traveling on a zip line,
riding tricycles, playing on tires, digging in a sand box, climbing
and exploring in a hay bale fort, getting lost in a corn maze, and
operating a hand pump at the duck races. We rode the wagon to the
pumpkin patch. Of course, finding the perfect pumpkin was
difficult. The easy part, was getting stuck in the mud!
It was a wonderful day. Enjoy looking at
our pictures.
