Elementary Students Kick Off Red Ribbon Week

On Monday, the elementary students released red balloons to kick off Red Ribbon Week. Each year, every student in pre-school through fifth grade gets to release one red balloon. The kids then get to dress up in different things each day of the week. Tuesday is "give drugs the slip" day where they get to wear their favorite slippers and pajamas. Wednesday is "turn your back on drugs" day so everyone wears their clothes backwards. Thursday is "tie down drugs" day and the kids wear their best or craziest ties! Since Friday is Halloween, it's "say boo to drugs" day. The kids will bring their costumes that day to participate in the Halloween spook parade.
