First Grade Field Trip

by Sharon Howard and Jan Witte

October 30, 2008

First graders went to Cowtown to experience life in the 1870's.  The students went to the Story and a Half House where they were seated in a parlor and learned about the expected rules of children back then.  Then they went in the dining room and saw toys from that period.  Outside, students washed, rinsed, and hung clothes, churned butter, and played with toys.

After eating lunch, the students went to Bergmann's Pumpkin Patch.  They rode the trailer to the corn maze where they had fun finding their way out of the maze.  Then they went to the pumpkin patch to find two perfect pumpkins.  Next the first graders got to play at the playground and petting zoo.

On the way home, students got ice cream at the Dairy Queen which was a good ending for our hot day.
