Mrs. Wood noticed Alexa’s talent in writing poetry and entered her into a poetry contest for students across the United States. She recently received a letter from the organization stating that she will be moving into the next round of semi-finalists. She also found out that only a very select cross-section of this year’s submissions would be asked to be in a book this fall and she’s one of those people! Her poem will be featured in their fall book “Resilience”! She has to sign an artist release form but she will still own the rights to her poem. The organization said many authors may never be discovered or have the opportunity to ever see their work in print but she will! It’s such an honor!
