Meet the Principal

Welcome to Udall Elementary School! My name is Heidi Perkins and I’m honored to be the Principal of the Udall Elementary Eagles. I joined USD 463 in July and I look forward to learning the culture, building relationships, and leading the learning community of Udall Elementary School during the 2020-2021 academic year.

Professionally, I earned my M.S. in School Leadership from Baker University in 2011 and my B.S. in Secondary Education (English and Journalism) from Kansas State University in 1998. Prior to joining the Udall school community, I served 20 years in the Mulvane School District as both an administrator and teacher. At Mulvane Middle School, I served as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for four years. Before that, I taught Language Arts courses at Mulvane High School including AP Literature and Composition (concurrent credit with Newman University), Composition I and II (concurrent credit with Cowley College), English IV, English I, and yearbook. I also served as the NHS advisor, Senior Class Sponsor, and Yearbook Advisor during my tenure as a Mulvane Wildcat. In 2016, I was honored to be a part of the Kansas Teacher of Year program as a Region IV Semi-finalist. Before joining USD 263, I taught Language Arts at Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg..

Personally, my husband (a structural engineer) and our three children enjoy all things K-State and anything we can do together as a family including our involvement in 4-H and with our church community. If I have any free time, I always enjoy reading a good book, working on my landscaping and home decorating projects, or baking something for the family. I grew up on a family farm in Washington County and spent my childhood as a Clifton-Clyde Eagle, so I'm thrilled that I get to be an Eagle, once again.

Although this year will look different because of the new safety protocols, Udall Elementary will continue to be a place where all students will learn and grow in a caring and supportive environment. At Udall Elementary, we’re #EagleStrong!
