Today was the all-school celebration for the elementary building. Students spent the morning at Cowley 8 Cinema watching The Super Mario Galaxy Movie 3D. Then, in the afternoon, 2nd through 5th grade were at the Carousel Skate Center for an afternoon of skating. Kindergarteners and 1st graders, after the movie, spent time at the park, then went to school for lunch. They had a fun afternoon doing activities at the middle school gym.

Mr. Hinsley's physical education class finished a floorball tournament last week. Floorball is a modified net game where the ball must go under a string that acts as the net instead of over the top like in a traditional net game. The ball stays on the floor, and you rally back-and-forth with pickleball paddles until someone hits it past the opposing player(s) and in between the boundary cones.

Congratulations to 8th grader Emma Hickenbottom, and senior Gabe Richards, for being selected Students of the Month for April! Staff had the following to say about each one...

"Emma is a quiet, studious 8th grader who doesn't draw attention to herself, while working hard in class. She is kind to everyone and smiles when she talks about her family and softball."

"Gabe is a deserving senior who has set a model example throughout his high school career. He not only has had very high academic standards for himself, but also went the extra mile in being involved in athletics and many activities. Gabe has held or currently holds many leadership officer positions in organizations including National Honor Society Parliamentarian, Student Council Treasurer and current President, FBLA Parliamentarian and current Vice-President, and FFA Past President and current Secretary. Throughout high school Gabe has also competed in football, basketball, track, and scholars bowl. He is also a Hope Squad member. Gabe has done all of these things with not only a positive attitude but also with care for our school and our student community."

Here are the brackets and information for the SB/BB games coming up on May 7th and 8th.

Games on 5/8 will start at 4:00 pm with the 7th place game followed by the 5th place game on the North Field.
At 4:00 pm, the start of the 3rd place game, followed by the championship game on the south field.

Broadway Sports Complex in Winfield will host the championship rounds on Friday, 5/8/26.

QR codes will be used for the programs for both the softball and baseball tournaments.
