USD 463 Students, Staff, and Families:
Due to an unstable power pole across from Udall Elementary, 3rd street in front of the elementary school is currently closed. The City of Udall has been notified of the issue.
Dismissal for the elementary school will occur on the north side of the building on 2nd street, today, Friday, March 14.
All bus route riders will exit the building and load the route buses along 2nd street on the north side of the elementary building.
All walkers who walk to the Middle/High School or south of the elementary school will also load a bus and be transported to the high school office entrance. Any middle school or high school student walking to the elementary school will load this bus and be transported to the elementary school cafeteria entrance.
Any middle school or high school student walking home will need to exit the middle school and high school building through the east middle school doors and walk down Broadway street.
Any elementary student who is getting picked up this afternoon by a parent will also exit the building on the northside of the elementary school. All parents picking up elementary students will need to do so on the north side of the elementary building along 2nd street.
Track, Softball, and Baseball practices have been cancelled for the day.
AM Preschool had their Farm to Table curriculum theme celebration today! This was a family involvement day, that included making a fruit salad according to a recipe written by the preschoolers!

Mrs. Hammond's MTSS class made a "Random Act of Kindness" station this morning. Their goal is to "chain the school with kindness".

Junior Leah Sade spent Thursday morning at the Mulvane Animal Clinic with Dr. Andrea Ahlerich, where she got to observe a day in the life of veterinary medicine. Some of the highlights from her visit were witnessing minor surgery, vaccinations, and administration of medication.
Other job shadows this semester will include the Udall preschool classroom, William Newton Hospital radiology and anesthesiology departments, William Bird HVAC Services, Abilene Railroad, and the Cowley County Court Services probation office.

West Point Cadet, John Goodnight, visited with 8th graders and juniors about the various aspects and benefits of military academy life, this afternoon. As an Andover High School graduate, he was able to talk about the unique perspective students from Kansas offer the academy. He also reminded the group that there are several things they can be doing right now to start preparing for whatever they choose to do after high school, including participation in clubs and sports.



The spring sports season has begun! Our UHS and UMS track team paused their practice for a quick picture yesterday. The first track meet of the season for our UMS track team will be Tuesday, April 1, at Central of Burden. Our UHS track team will travel to Oxford on Friday, April 4, for their first track meet of the year.

A group of sophomores and juniors toured the Machining, Automotive, Construction, and Welding programs at Cowley College in Ark City this morning. This annual visit is designed to help students decide whether they would like to start pursuing a certificate, or an associate's degree, in one of those CTE programs next year.

Our UMS Mathletes team competed at the Math Relays in Caldwell last night where our team earned nine medals and placed 3rd as a team (out of 10 teams).

The baseball team will play on March 31st at 4:00 pm at home against South Sumner. (On the calendar)
The softball team will NOT play on March 31st, due to FBLA conflict. The softball game has been reschedule for May 12th at 4:00 pm at home against South Sumner.

Mark your calendars! On Tuesday May 6th, Middle School Stuco is sponsoring our Annual End-of-the-Year Picnic at Derby, High Park from about 10-3. Students will depart at 9:30 and arrive back at school around 3:15. Picnic lunches will be provided. More details will come as the date approaches.
