A huge thank you to Tim Dreiling, and Higgins Group Inc., for the comprehensive and inspiration filled tour of their facilities this morning! Odin Wood, James Barton, Casadee Smith, Dezaria Moore, Tatum Wohler, Breanna Exley, Bradley Mashburn, Kaleb Wales, James Hornecker, Lucas Tasior, and Adrean Duncan got to visit each department to see what goes on behind the scenes of a continuously growing company that provides drywall, glazing, and insulation services, along with cabinet systems, and concrete coatings, both commercially and residentially. Each student was treated to lunch, a gift bag, t-shirt, and $25 gift card, at the conclusion of the tour.

Retired American Airlines pilot, Chuck Dugnolle, spoke with the 8th grade class about his lifelong aviation career, what it entailed, and the path he took to get there. His biggest piece of advice was to try to find a career in something you enjoy. The class will next get to tour Eisenhower Airport to see other careers involved in the aviation industry.

Congratulations Class of 2025!

The next Clothes Closet open house at the Rose Hill Christian Church, is this Saturday, May 3 from 9:30 in the morning until three in the afternoon. This open house and free offering of clothing and shoes is for those in financial need from the Rose Hill, Douglas and Udall school districts. You will note that those are extended hours and that is to allow for more people to be able to come in the afternoon in the event that their kids have sports events in the morning. This is our first open house featuring our summer items but we will also have our usual year-round, clothing, and shoe items available. Our open house is located at the south end of the Christian Church parking lot not the main building. We have new to us items that were not there the previous month and that is due to the ongoing great donations that we receive. We accept donations of clean gently used smoke free, and animal hair free items. If you have any questions, please call me at 316 258-0817. Please do not drop off donations outside of our buildings where they can draw moisture or attract insects. Hope to see you at the next open house.
