Sophomores Avarie Cooper, Summer Flax-Comer, Ethan Stephens, and Hayden Byers got to tour Cowley College's CTE programs in Ark City this morning. They also got to speak with instructors in the Non-Destructive Testing, Welding, Machining, and Automotive departments as they made their way through the facilities. Enrollment in these programs for the 2026-2027 school year will open soon, and they usually fill up pretty quickly. Due to the potential of inclement winter weather this weekend, the SCBL basketball tournament schedue has changed. The UHS girls will play Wednesday evening (vs. Oxford at Dexter). The UHS boys will play Thursday (TBD based off tonight's game).

Jackie Smart presented a lesson on bees to the second-grade students. Ms. Jackie and her husband raise bees and harvest honey. She concluded the lesson by treating the students with crackers topped with honey. The class thought the honey was delicious!
